WBO World Lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk was stopped by the No. 1 contender, 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist Keyshawn ‘The Businessman’ Davis, in four rounds, taking the count on his knees in a mismatch on Friday night at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York City. In the co-feature, unbeaten Xander Zayas stopped previously undefeated Slawa Spomer in the ninth round.

Berinchyk, 19-1 (9), was knocked out by Davis, 13-0 (9) at 1:45 of the fourth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the first round, Davis pushed Berinchyk to the canvas and later fouled him without warning from Referee Harvey Dock. In a round, Davis easily won by moving around the ring with hands held high, and Berinchyk landed a few punches.

In the second round, Berinchyk fought southpaw, finally landing some punches in another losing round. In the third round’s early seconds, Davis landed a left to the liver, dropping Berinchyk for an 8-count from Ref Dock. Davis later drew blood from the nose of the champ. In the fourth round, a left to the body from Davis and down went Berinchyk for the count on his knees from Ref Dock.

In the co-feature, Super Welterweight top-ranked WBO contender, NABF and WBO NABO champ Xander Zayas, 21-0 (13), stopped the WBO No. 11 contender Slawa Spomer, 20-1 (11) at 2:01 of the ninth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the first round first minute, Zayas drew blood from the nose of Spomer with a looping left. In the third round, Zayas landed a low blow warned by Referee Charlie Fitch. In the final minute, Zayas had Spomer hurt. In the final seconds, Spomer rocked Zayas with an overhand right on the chin.

In the fifth round, Zayas was warned for another low blow, and Spomer held his head down when landing the punch. From the sixth round through the eighth round, Zayas continued out-landing Spomer by a large margin, primarily to the body.

In the ninth round, Zayas was landing well, then held down the head of Spomer, landing an uppercut, almost dropping him. Another four punches by Zayas and Referee Fitch stepped in, calling a halt. The younger (22) Zayas simply had too much hand speed for the (32) older Spomer, who was trained by former world champ Roy Jones, Jr.

Middleweight Vito ‘White Majic’ Mielnicki, Jr., 20-1-1 (12) ended in a majority draw with Connor ‘The Kid’ Coyle, 21-0-1 (9) over 10 close rounds for vacant IBF USBA, WBC USA, and WBO International titles, Mielnicki getting one of the votes.

Mielnicki got an effective jab from Coyle in the first two rounds to outland him overall. In the third round, Coyle, in the final seconds, landed half a dozen unanswered punches. In the fourth round, Coyle drew blood from the mouth of Mielnicki early. Midway, Mielnicki caused a cut on their left eyebrow of Coyle with a right uppercut, with Coyle ducking into it. Coyle’s power punches won the round.

In the fifth round, Mielnicki came back well to outwork Coyle. In the sixth round’s final minute, Mielnicki landed a solid right on the chin of Coyle, getting a roar from the pro Mielnicki fans.

In the seventh round’s final minute, a solid jab from Mielnicki drew blood from Coyle’s nose. In the eighth, Coyle came back well, and in the ninth, it was Mielnicki coming back well.

In the tenth and final round, it was Mielnicki out-landing Coyle in an action round, seemingly may have pulled out the decision.

The scores were 96-94 Mielnicki, 95-95 twice.

Lightweight southpaw Abdullah Mason, 17-0 (15), impressed in stopping Manuel Jaimes, 16-3-1 (11), at 1:55 of the fourth round of a scheduled eight rounds, scoring four knockdowns.

In the second round, a left uppercut on the chin from Mason dropped Jaimes for an 8-count from Referee David Fields after twenty seconds. In the third round, after twenty seconds, a 4-punch combination started with a left on the chin, dropping Jaimes for an 8-count from Referee Fields.

In the fourth round, a double right hook from Mason on the chin and down went Jaimes. After another knockdown by Mason, Referee Fields instantly waved it off.

Welterweight 2020 Olympian Rohan ‘El Rayo’ Polanco, 15-0 (10) stopped Juan Carlos ‘Lobo’ Torres, 22-2 (17) at 1:48 of the second round of a scheduled 10 rounds for the vacant WBO Continental title.

In the first round, Polanco dropped Torres with a left hook to the head, followed by a right for an 8-count from Referee Eddie Claudio in the first minute. In the second round, Polanco again dropped Torres at the start of the round with a left to the chin and a push down for an 8-count. Shortly later, a right on the chin from Polanco dropped him a second time. Upon rising from an 8-count referee, Claudio wisely waved it off.

‘Legend Lives on Tour’ Middleweight Nico Ali Walsh, 10-2 (5) lost a split decision to Juan ‘El Fresero’ Carlos Guerra, Jr., 6-1-1 (2) over six competitive rounds. Walsh is the grandson of the former world champion Muhammad ‘The Greatest’ Ali.

In the first round, Guerra swarmed all over Ali-Walsh for half a round, with Ali-Walsh returning in a close round. In the second and third rounds, Guerra can’t seem to miss with his overhand rights. Ali worked the body.

In the fourth round Ali-Walsh landed uppercuts to the body having an edge. In the fifth round both landed left hooks to chin in another close round. In the sixth and final round Ali-Walsh did well when in the middle of the ring not on the ropes where he ended up throughout.

The referee was Charley Fitch, and the scores were 58-56 each, 58-56 Guerra.

Super Flyweight 2024 Olympian Juanma ‘Juanmita’ Lopez DeJesus, 1-0 (1) electrified the fans, knocking out Brian Santiago, 1-1-2) at 0:59 of the first round of a scheduled four rounds.

In the first round, at the end of a minute, a lead left uppercut from DeJesus on the chin and down went Santiago. He could not move, looking frozen, taking the count from Referee Eddie Claudio

Welterweight Keon ‘Juice Man’ Davis, 2-0 (1), #149.2, of Norfolk, VA, stopped Ira Johnson, 3-3 (2), #148.2, of Kansas City, MO, at 1:38 of the second round of a scheduled four rounds.

In the first round, it was all Davis having Johnson on the defense. In the second round, Davis landed a right to the body shot, dropping Johnson for an 8-count from Referee Steve Willis. Upon rising, Davis jumped on Johnson seconds later dropping him with a left to the body, causing Willis to wave it off.

Heavyweight Jared ‘The Real Big Baby’ Anderson, 18-1 (15), #256.8, of Toledo, OH, returned from his first loss to defeat game Marios Kollias, 12-4-1 (10), #235.4, of Patras, GR, over 10 rounds.

Anderson fought southpaw in the first round and used an effective jab. In the final minute, Kollias landed a flurry of punches and a left on the chin, stunning Anderson. Anderson came back in the final seconds until hit with a left on the chin.

In the second and half of the third rounds, Anderson returned to his natural orthodox and did much better until he got rocked with a right on the chin in the final minute of the third. In the first minute of the fourth round, a mouse started under Kollias’s left eye. A right from Anderson on the nose in the final minute got Kollias’s attention. A left hook from Kollias on the chin momentarily caused Anderson to turn southpaw.

In the seventh round, Anderson controlled until twenty seconds remaining, when a chopping right from Kollias on the chin got his attention.

In the tenth and final round, Anderson threw Kollias to the canvas halfway through. Kollias fought like a man who needed a knockout, but Anderson outlanded to take the round.

Referee David Fields. Scores 99-91 twice, 98-92.
