On the undercard of the Top Rank promoted Vito Mielnicki vs Kamil Gardzielik event, a grudge match is set to take place as Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson (15-2, 9 KOs) will face Jahi Tucker (14-1-1, 6 KOs) on Saturday night June 21 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, live on ESPN+.

This will be a battle between two fighters who experienced a war of words, and now it’s time for them to settle their differences inside the squared circle. Simpson and Tucker are two talented fighters who are looking to score a quality win and build momentum.

A product of Baltimore, Maryland, Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson’s pro boxing career started on cruise control as he won his first thirteen professional bouts. Then the career path became a little bumpy, as Truck Simpson crossed a road known as adversity.

Back in August 2023 at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, Lorenzo Simpson was outworked by Vladimir Hernandez as he suffered his first career loss. A year later, Truck Simpson made his return to Atlanta.

In his bout against Raiko Santana, Simpson used his jab and lateral movement as he proceeded to work efficiently and land the cleaner shots. All of the onlookers assumed Simpson won, but when the scorecards were added up, the bout was declared a draw.

In OTX Boxing, if a fight is scored as a draw, an overtime round is used to determine the winner. In the overtime round, Raiko Santana outworked Truck Simpson and was awarded the decision victory.

Simpson would bounce back by stopping Trevon Smith in the first round. Now, the 25-year-old Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson is ready to step inside the squared circle to face a man who has become a heated rival.

Back in September 2020, Jahi Tucker made his pro boxing debut by stopping DeAndre Anderson in the first round. He would go on to win nine additional bouts.

Tucker received a blemish on his record when he lost to Nicklaus Flaz via 8-round majority decision. After suffering his first professional defeat, Tucker bounced back, as he’s currently on a four-fight win streak.

Now, the 22-year-old Queens, New York, native is ready to settle his beef with his adversary. The animosity between Tucker and Simpson originated due to details of their sparring session being leaked on the internet.

Truck Simpson posted an image that appears to be a photo of him dropping Jahi Tucker. Tucker responded by stating that the photo had to be a picture of a slip, and he went on to imply that he dominated the sparring action.

On Saturday night, live on ESPN+, a grudge match is set to take place between two skilled fighters. This is one of those bouts where the winner will increase his stock, and the loser will have to go back to the drawing board.
